Hinduphobic Twitter

It’s a well-known fact that Twitter is a leftist organisation. Anything which goes against their so-called ideology, they simply muzzle it. Few years ago, Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, admitted of Twitter being a ‘more left-leaning’ organisation in an interview.

So, when religious fanaticism resulted in the massacre of innocent ISKCON devotees in Bangladesh, Twitter, as usual, kept its eyes closed. Its action does not surprise me anymore.

Hindus in India and in Islamist nations like – Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh – have been the victims of the same religious fanaticism for centuries. And the worst part is that their massacres, at the hands of these Islamic radicals, have been whitewashed by the same leftist historians of India. Such a disgrace!

Apart from the killing of ISKCON devotees, so many rape cases have been reported in Bangladesh. The barbarians did not leave anyone – be it a minor girl or a 60-year-old woman. Same was seen in the post-poll violence in West Bengal. Numerous cases of brutal killings, loot and rapes were reported. But the ‘renowned’ intellectuals, journalists and other personalities often call India an insecure, intolerant country for minorities, which means only Muslims – not micro minorities like Jains, Buddhists, Parsis.

When ISKCON Bangladesh and a Hindu organisation kept reporting about these atrocities being committed against Hindus there, the left-leaning Twitter blocked them for which ideology comes first as compared to the Hindu lives and honour of Hindu women.

This same Twitter openly let ‘eminent’ journalists sing in the praise of hardcore terrorists, who are behind the deaths of innocent civilians. All these habitual offenders are openly spreading fake news pertaining to India. But their accounts are still functioning. We all know why.

All these big social media websites – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube – are leftist organisations. Expecting anything humane from them for innocent people having different opinions or ideologies is nothing but a big delusion.

Saviour Kejriwal Banning Firecrackers in Delhi

Someone recently asked me about Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to ban firecrackers in Delhi ahead of Diwali. So here’s my opinion about the same.

Yes, Kejriwal is absolutely right in banning firecrackers as only crackers produce pollution in Delhi, neither vehicles emitting black smoke nor stubble burning.

Kejriwal is absolutely right in banning firecrackers as they create panic among animals the same way panic was created among people in Delhi during 2020 riots.

Kejriwal is absolutely right in banning firecrackers as the ‘massive’ pollution created during Diwali prove to be ‘harmful’ for old people, patients and children. But the glorious Delhi CM and his henchmen failed to stop black marketing of oxygen and life-saving medicines during the second wave of corona. Result – thousands of death recorded all over the city just in a span of 3 months.

Kejriwal is absolutely right in banning firecrackers as he has wasted a whopping amount of 800 crores in advertisements in last two years in stead of using them in public welfare schemes. Had some part of this amount been spent on tackling the everlasting problem of pollution, it could have changed the whole scenario in Delhi. It is also noteworthy that when people of Delhi were desperately struggling for arranging oxygen cylinders for their loved ones, the same Kejriwal government spent 64 crores only in advertisements during the period of April-June 2021 – the second and most fatal wave of corona so far in India.

Sly Kejriwal is hell-bent on ruining Delhi by introducing policies favourable to only one community. Providing shelter to illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants is one such example. I hope people of Delhi are more aware now than ever before. Still, I am skeptical about them. Who knows next time, after the free electricity and water offer, the freebie of  oxygen may bring a change of heart in them making Kejriwal once again the ‘Raja of Delhi.’

The Unfortunate Ship Mary Celeste

For more than 100 years, many attempts have been being made to unravel the great mystery of American ship Mary Celeste. This 150-year-old incident is a subject of great curiosity among people till today.

On 7th November, 1872, Mary Celeste, a 282-ton ship, set off from New York port to Genoa in Italy. The ship’s cargo contained 1700 barrels of industrial alcohol, which cost $35000 that time. On board were 10 people, which included ship’s Captain Benjamin Briggs, his wife Sarah, their 2-year-old daughter Sophia and 7 crew members.

About a month later, on December 5, Mary Celeste was found adrift 400 miles from Santa Maria’s Azore Islands. It was first sighted by David Morehouse, captain of a British ship Dei Gratia. What was surprising that there was not a single person present on the ship among those 10 people.

So where did all those people go? Various theories from North African pirates to insurance scam to sea monster to explosion due to industrial alcohol to mutiny among crew members ranged.

But neither there was any sign of any kind of violence nor the cargo was missing. This rejected the possibility of piracy and violence among crew members. In the same way, other theories were dismissed due to lack of concrete evidences.

According to experts, the strongest possibility was of a sea storm. The last entry in the ship’s log was made on 25th November at 5 a.m. Captain Briggs was a very rational and experienced person. A person like him could have never made the decision of abandoning the ship without any strong reason. And if it was so then what happened that day?

When Mary Celeste was found, there was several feet water in its cargo compartment and its lifeboat was also missing. Moreover, there was no damage to the ship and it had food items and water available for the next 6 months. But the ship’s papers and Captain Briggs’ navigational instruments were missing. So, does this mean Captain Briggs ordered to leave the ship only after sighting land. If yes, then why?

Many reasons were considered for that. The night before the ship’s last log entry, Mary Celeste had to face a severe storm. Captain Briggs’s estimation of proximity of land proved to be wrong due to faulty marine chronometer.

Still, these two reasons were not enough for an experienced captain like Briggs to abandon the ship.

During investigations, it came to light that Mary Celeste had carried coals in its previous journey. Apart from this, the ship underwent massive repairs. Coal dust and construction debris damaged its pumps. With the inoperative pumps, it became very difficult for Captain Briggs to ascertain the water level in ship’s hull only by seeing it. In that situation, Briggs did not have any other way to know if the ship would drown or not.

Thus, rough weather, misapprehension of sighting land and threat of ship’s sinking would have made Captain Briggs to abandon Mary Celeste. It might be possible that the boat they aboard would have met some accident resulting in the death of all of them.

However, there is still no consensus of opinion on what happened to the unfortunate people aboard Mary Celeste. That’s why even after 150 years, attempts are still being made to know about the fate of Mary Celeste’s passengers.

Aleya Ghost Lights

A marshy land in the middle of deserted jungles and a mysterious flickering light over it, which has created a sense of terror among people since a long time. You might encounter these lights in the jungles of Sundarbans in West Bengal.

These lights often emerge in the marshy regions of West Bengal and Bangladesh and prove to be a messenger of death for many people. Famous as Aleya ghost lights or light of ghosts, their name is enough to send shivers down local residents’ spine.

People of the area believe that these lights are nothing but the haunting spirits of fishermen who were killed here due to some reasons while fishing. According to them, whoever sees these lights they either lose their way or die after some days. What is interesting is that these lights are seen only at night, that too in remote, secluded places.

Fishermen of these area have claimed to see these lights. Many times, the corpses of fishermen have been found here. It is believed that whoever chases these lights either drowns or lose mental balance.

As per them, some spirits kill fishermen by leading them astray while some guides them to correct direction. Though, local administration has refused to see it as a paranormal event. It might be possible that a person would lose way and eventually drown in the marsh.

Not only in Bengal, these mysterious lights are also seen in many cities of UK, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Australia along with North and South America. Here, these are known as will-o’-the-wisp or jack-o’-lantern. In these countries, these lights are considered to be related to hidden treasures.

Whereas, scientists attributed this phenomenon to theories like ionization of methane or geological faulting on marshy lands.

Whatever may be the reason, the mystery of these lights have remained unsolved in Bengal till today. What do you think?

Hast Minar – A Mughal Site Struggling for Its Existence

Once bustling with the presence of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, an unfortunate Mughal era structure is today desperately waiting for its upheaval. Famous as Chota Qutub Minar, this historical site is situated in Hastsal Village in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar.

Its original name is Hast Minar. Made with brick and red sandstone, this Mughal era building is also known as Kaushal Minar. It is quite astonishing that this has been completely forgotten. I, myself, got to know about it recently.

Shah Jahan commissioned Hast Minar’s construction as his hunting lodge in the 17th century. That time, it was a five-storey building with internal stairway leading to the chhatri (dome-shaped pavilions) at the top. But with the passage of the time, now only three storeys have remained. For this, much of the blame goes to government negligence.

Two-wheeler or walking is the best bet to reach here. If you plan visiting this place by car then you will have to park it to a safer place, which is quite difficult to find. Reason being, the way proceeding to the minar is too narrow.

After entering the minar, I had huge disappointment with the view. All efforts in crossing the narrow lanes only to cover this minar instantly went in vain. How can such a historical site be consigned to oblivion?

The surrounding dense population has become a serious threat for its existence. Few years back, Delhi government’s archaeology department took the responsibility of its restoration. However, that does not seem to make much difference to its plight. Iron poles have been erected all around it. At present, the minar is acting like a shelter for pigeons and chickens. In addition, people living nearby have made it a dumping ground.
In such conditions, how can one believe it to be related to Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan? The sheer government indifference and locals’ careless attitude have made the minar sustaining itself quite difficult. The Hast Minar, which once used to be Mughals’ one of the favourite recreational sites, today is waiting for urgent attention.

My Mother’s Terrace Garden

“My extravagance is my garden – it’s the first thing I look at every morning when I wake up. It gives me so much pleasure.” Ina Garten

I have seen my mother literally living these words. Every morning while walking on my terrace, I see her going straight to her garden and closely inspecting plants and trees. Gardening work as a therapy for her. Since childhood, I have been seeing my mother spending considerable time in growing various plants and trees, which include flowers, fruits and vegetables. In our earlier home, we used to have plants of cotton, lady finger, turmeric, ginger, onion and garlic along with lemon, papaya, pomegranate, jack fruit trees to name a few.

Continuing the same, my mother has maintained a terrace garden in our current home. She has been organically growing her garden by using kitchen waste and natural fertilisers only. Her constant efforts are now visible in her garden, which boasts of many beautiful flowers, vegetables and few fruit trees. Some of the plants and trees we are currently having in our terrace garden:

Aparajita (Asian Pigeonwings)

Jatadhari (Cockscomb)

Lilly

Magic Rose

Neelkalmi (Japanese Morning Glory)

As Robert Rodale has said, “In almost every garden, the land is made better and so is the gardener,” just like with this garden my mother has honed her gardening skills for sure. Whereas, I have started praising God’s creation more than ever. All thanks to my mother’s terrace garden!
